Residential Life Community Coordinator

About the role

The Residential Life Community Coordinator supports student success by creating an engaging, inclusive, and academically focused living environment on the LSU‑Alexandria campus. Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, the coordinator plans and delivers programs that promote retention, persistence, and graduation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with students to encourage campus engagement and leadership development.
• Provide support to students facing emotional, academic, physical, or interpersonal challenges and refer them to appropriate campus resources.
• Design, implement, and assess educational and social programs for residence halls and the broader campus community.
• Assist with campus‑wide activities, including marketing, recruiting, planning, execution, and evaluation.
• Maintain regular office hours, respond to student and stakeholder needs, and ensure visibility in the residence hall office.
• Support daily operations such as building opening/closing, software management (erezlife), room inventory monitoring, room changes, and work‑order follow‑up.
• Respond on‑scene to campus situations following departmental protocols.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate Resident Assistant (RA) staff.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation covering evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Live on‑campus at The Oaks as a condition of employment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in residential life and campus programming preferred.
• Experience delivering student leadership training and programming.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to reside on campus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with erezlife residence‑life management software.
