Restaurant Hostess (Egyptian Only)

About the role

Kempinski is hiring a Restaurant Hostess in Safaga, Egypt, on a permanent full-time basis. The role covers serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet with courteous, professional and efficient service that encourages sales and maximises guest satisfaction. The position is open only to Egyptian candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Serve guests in the assigned outlet and provide a courteous, professional and efficient service consistent with hotel and Kempinski standards.
• Report to the Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager; arrive on time, wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed, polished shoes and a nametag, in line with the hotel dress code and grooming standards.
• Know all hotel services and products, and all food and beverage items of the assigned department, and be able to upsell and offer alternatives.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment to reduce spoilage and wastage, and keep the workplace and surroundings clean and organised.
• Carry out opening and closing procedures for the outlet, handle guest inquiries courteously and report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors, following up on them.
• Operate the POS system to the extent of your training, and assist in scheduled product and equipment inventories.
• Maintain the guest history, keep the reservation book legible and up to date, and coordinate the printing of the restaurant menus.
• Adhere to hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health and safety, attend staff meetings and training, and undertake reasonable secondary duties assigned by the Department Head.

Required profile

• At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an international, luxury five-star hotel.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Egyptian nationality only.
