Retail Accountant

About the role

The Retail Accountant will ensure accurate financial processing for store operations, handling point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, consumer finance payments, and daily cash management. You will work closely with branch teams and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and maintain smooth financial workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and configure POS machines and consumer finance payment systems, creating and linking payment method accounts for branches and cashiers.
• Review and reconcile sales transactions and payment method balances, reporting any discrepancies.
• Monitor cash differences, bank deposits, and bank commissions, ensuring correct recording and settlement.
• Follow up on balances and settlements with consumer finance companies, coordinating pending or delayed payments.
• Ensure all payment method accounts are reconciled and excess cash is transferred to designated accounts.
• Provide daily operational support to branches and collaborate with Stock Control and other internal teams to resolve operational and reconciliation issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to develop professionally.
