Senior Accountant - Industrial Tires Import & Distribution

About the role

A leading Saudi industrial tire distributor, which has imported tires from China and Turkey since the 1950s and employs more than 200 people, is building its Egypt finance office in Alexandria. It needs a Senior Accountant to lead a major clean-up of its accounting records, then join the finance team as a core member handling monthly closing, financial reporting and balance monitoring, working directly with Saudi finance leadership and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reorganize the Chart of Accounts and correct accounting classifications
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure balances are accurate
• Identify errors and discrepancies, then prepare and implement journal entries and adjustments
• Run monthly closing and prepare monthly financial statements and reports
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in bank, customer, supplier and inventory balances
• Analyze unusual variances in accounts and financial results
• Handle inventory accounting and costing
• Prepare schedules and reconciliations for external auditors and follow up on their queries
• Improve accounting procedures so errors do not recur
• Work closely with the Finance Manager and finance team to solve financial issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a comparable hands-on accounting role
• Experience in inventory accounting and costing
• Advantages: background in an accounting or external audit firm, and experience in trading, distribution or another commercial environment
• Analytical, detail-oriented, able to follow issues through to resolution independently, and able to handle confidential financial information professionally
