Senior Backend Developer

About the role

Geidea is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of its settlement platform. The role focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable Java‑based solutions that support financial transaction processing, reconciliation, and settlement operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce high code quality and development standards across all services.
• Lead architectural decisions for microservices, API governance, and complex system integrations.
• Provide technical leadership to cross‑functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Operations).
• Identify system bottlenecks, scalability risks, and performance challenges, and drive optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data‑protection requirements for payment systems.
• Oversee production stability, incident management, root‑cause analysis, and preventive measures.
• Align technical roadmap with business priorities and enterprise architecture standards.

Required profile

• 4–6+ years of backend development experience using Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience building enterprise‑grade services with Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
• Strong background in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Experience with microservices, event‑driven architectures, and service orchestration.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including performance tuning and schema design.
