Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance services that power a computationally demanding B2B SaaS platform. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of APIs, data pipelines, and distributed computation workloads while ensuring strict multi‑tenant security and latency targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑concurrency asynchronous services for query routing, planning workflows, and reporting using FastAPI.
• Design and manage a multi‑tenant relational schema with row‑level security, tenant isolation, and optimized queries across large data volumes.
• Integrate heavy computation jobs via distributed task queues, enable efficient data sharing between computation and API layers, and implement caching strategies to meet latency requirements.
• Implement API rate limiting, connection pooling, role‑based access control, and comprehensive input validation before data reaches the database.
• Own strict response‑time objectives for computation endpoints, continuously profiling and monitoring performance in production.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in SaaS or data‑intensive backend engineering with complex analytical queries.
• Strong expertise in relational schema design, row‑level security, multi‑tenant isolation, and query optimization.
• Proven track record building and shipping async systems, distributed task queues, in‑memory caching, and data pipelines in production.
• Security‑first mindset with hands‑on experience in RBAC, tenant isolation, data validation, and audit logging.
• Ability to take ownership of performance targets and continuously monitor them.
