Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate production‑grade Java microservices on Spring Boot. You will own the full delivery lifecycle, from API design and data modelling to observability, CI/CD, and on‑call support, working closely with Product, QA, and SRE teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑performance, scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Own end‑to‑end API design, including versioning, idempotency, error contracts, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Architect services with bounded contexts, saga patterns, and proper decomposition.
• Enforce security best practices such as OAuth2, JWT, OWASP guidelines, and vulnerability remediation.
• Integrate event‑driven systems using Apache Kafka and manage cloud‑native deployments on AWS.
• Optimize JVM performance, caching, profiling, and database queries.
• Develop serverless solutions with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, incident resolution, code reviews, and mentorship.

Required profile

• Strong experience delivering Java‑based microservices in production.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot, REST API design, and OpenAPI.
• Proven expertise in security protocols (OAuth2, JWT) and secure coding practices.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, threading, and asynchronous programming.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka and event‑driven architectures.
• Familiarity with AWS services, especially serverless offerings.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and drive automation.
