Senior Backend Software Engineer with AI

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend software engineer to design, build and ship micro‑service based backend systems that power our AI‑enhanced healthcare platform. You will work with a fast‑growing international team, integrating large language models and AI agents into production while ensuring reliability, safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Kotlin/Java and Python within a micro‑service architecture.
• Design and implement MCP servers and tool interfaces that enable AI agents to interact with internal APIs.
• Build orchestration layers, memory modules and evaluation frameworks to provide context‑aware, dependable agent behavior.
• Integrate large language models (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI) with attention to latency, cost and observability.
• Apply CI/CD practices, write automated tests, conduct code reviews and refactor for maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, data and security teams to meet regulatory requirements in a high‑stakes healthcare environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Hands‑on experience building LLM‑powered applications, agents or multi‑step orchestration workflows.
• Familiarity with major LLM APIs and ability to design tooling, MCPs and memory for agents.
• Experience creating evaluation or test harnesses for non‑deterministic systems.
• Pragmatic mindset focused on shipping reliable software and reliable AI.
