Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Vodafone Egypt is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its consumer marketing team. You will work with a multidisciplinary data science group to turn large‑scale data into actionable insights that shape products, services and offers for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify commercial opportunities and lead analytics initiatives that meet business requirements.
• Translate complex data sets into strategic insights and communicate findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Design, build, test, deploy, maintain and improve data science pipelines and models in collaboration with technology teams.
• Mentor colleagues on statistical techniques, algorithms and data sources, and act as the local technical expert.
• Stay abreast of emerging analytics trends and drive innovation across business functions.

Required profile

• Passion for working with huge data sets and solving unstructured problems.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑directed and able to own tasks from conception to delivery.
• Strong ability to test hypotheses, draw conclusions and present results clearly in writing and verbally.
• Excellent command of English and proven analytical and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Big Data technologies such as Hadoop MapReduce, interactive SQL on Hadoop and NoSQL databases.
• Data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Data visualization tools, e.g., Tableau and GIS platforms.
• Deep statistical modelling expertise across multiple domains.
