Senior Direct Purchasing Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Direct Purchasing Specialist to lead sourcing and supplier management activities in our procurement function. The role will support the execution of category strategies, ensure contract compliance and drive cost‑effective purchasing across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Implement larger category strategies under the guidance of strategic category leaders.
• Monitor contract compliance and evaluate vendor performance.
• Adapt quickly to changes in the procurement program and communicate updates to business stakeholders.
• Research industry standards, cost drivers, supply and demand trends.
• Identify and qualify new local and foreign suppliers to improve quality, price and credit terms.
• Coordinate banking activities, including opening letters of credit, with the finance department.
• Manage end‑to‑end order flow from confirmation to arrival, including customs documentation (ACID) and shipping arrangements.
• Collaborate with logistics to book shipments, review shipping documents and obtain original documents from banks.
• Conduct supplier trials and onboarding for new vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain functions.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Background in logistics is a plus.
