Senior Electrical Power Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead the reliable and safe operation of electrical power systems at our pharmaceutical manufacturing site. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, engineering design, and continuous improvement to support critical production and laboratory areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution networks, including transformers, main and sub‑main distribution boards, diesel generators, ATS and UPS systems.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, perform root‑cause analysis and lead corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with GMP, safety regulations and company procedures, including LOTO implementation and audit support.
• Lead electrical engineering activities for new equipment installations, facility expansions and upgrades, reviewing design drawings and coordinating commissioning and qualification.
• Monitor energy consumption, propose and implement efficiency initiatives and support sustainability programmes.
• Supervise electrical technicians and contractors, providing technical coaching and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in electrical power systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, safety regulations and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.

Required skills

• Medium‑Voltage (MV) and Low‑Voltage (LV) power distribution.
• Transformers, MDB/SMDB, diesel generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
• Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Root‑cause analysis (RCA) of electrical failures.
• Electrical design review and drawing management.
• Integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation.
• Energy management and efficiency optimisation.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and GMP compliance.
