Senior Engineering Manager - AI-Native B2B Commerce

About the role

Sana Commerce is building a new AI-native product for agentic B2B commerce and is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering for this product and become the first leader of its fast-growing engineering community in Egypt. The role combines product engineering leadership with leading the Egypt site, which is the main engineering hub. It is primarily a people and delivery leadership role, with enough technical depth to understand the architecture and work closely with Product Management and Architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product engineering: keep a fast-moving product on track, turn the roadmap into reliable delivery across Buyer Channels, Seller Studio and Platform, and shape small, autonomous teams with clear ownership in a distributed organization.
• Help teams get value from AI coding agents, with clear quality standards and metrics.
• Build reliability with the Platform team: observability, SLOs and incident management.
• Coach team leads and senior engineers, and hire and develop engineers across all locations.
• Be the local face of Sana and first point of contact for every engineer in Egypt, hold regular 1:1s to support growth and careers, and build a connected community in Egypt while growing the team.

Required profile

• 5+ years in engineering management, including 2+ years leading multiple teams or team leads.
• Background as a senior engineer or tech lead, with a strong understanding of cloud-native, API-first systems (Azure is a plus).
• Track record of delivering a new product to production and running it, with measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools, and a clear view of where they help and where they fail.
• Track record of developing engineers, and excellent written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: experience setting up or leading an engineering site, LLM or agent-based products, leading distributed teams across cultures, and Microsoft Azure.
