Senior Import & Cost Accountant

About the role

TAD for Trading and Distribution is seeking a Senior Import & Cost Accountant to manage landed cost calculations, import documentation and cost allocation for mobile phone and telecommunications products. The role ensures accurate inventory valuation and compliance with tax and customs regulations while supporting the company’s fast‑paced growth in the Egyptian market.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and maintain accurate landed cost for imported finished goods and components.
• Process Form 4 and manage all import‑related banking procedures.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, shipping companies, suppliers and banks to ensure smooth shipment clearance.
• Record and allocate import‑related expenses (freight, duties, insurance, bank charges) to inventory.
• Track and control costs of outsourced assembly and manufacturing operations.
• Reconcile foreign supplier accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
• Prepare shipment costing, inventory valuation and profitability analysis reports.
• Analyze cost fluctuations caused by exchange rates, freight, customs duties and subcontracting.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Production and Finance to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in import, trading, electronics or mobile‑phone companies.
• Strong experience in import costing, inventory accounting and outsourced manufacturing accounting.
• Proven ability to handle import documentation (Form 4) and bank‑related import procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of VAT regulations, recovery and input VAT reconciliation.
• Experience reconciling foreign supplier accounts and managing overseas payments.
