Senior PHP Developer – Backend Microservices

About the role

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join Bevatel’s core backend team. You will design, build and operate high‑scale microservices that power our high‑traffic production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑throughput microservices using PHP 8+ and Laravel, implementing failover and concurrency strategies.
• Own Kubernetes services: pod management, troubleshooting, Helm chart configuration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize large‑scale data access with complex queries, sharding, replication and data integrity checks.
• Implement event‑driven architecture with RabbitMQ, ensuring durability, idempotency and scalability.
• Leverage Redis for distributed caching, locking and performance improvements.
• Maintain shared internal PHP packages to enforce consistency and security.
• Mentor team members on distributed patterns and lead architectural reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 2 years building high‑traffic microservices.
• Deep expertise in PHP 8+ and Laravel.
• Strong production experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced relational database skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL); experience with distributed or NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Proven use of Redis and RabbitMQ (or Kafka/SQS) in production.
• Ownership mindset, strong observability skills and ability to debug complex distributed issues.
• Clear communication of technical trade‑offs.
