Senior Production Maintenance Engineer

About the role

LEONI is seeking a Senior Production Maintenance Engineer to lead its Production Maintenance team. You will be responsible for ensuring high machine uptime, driving continuous improvement, and overseeing critical utilities across manufacturing assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Production Maintenance team, set clear KPIs for machine uptime, and monitor shift performance to minimise Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• Develop team capabilities through targeted technical training in PLC logic, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics, identifying skill gaps to handle complex automated systems.
• Lead preventive, predictive (CBM) and corrective maintenance for CNC machinery, assembly lines and specialised tooling to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
• Oversee delivery of critical production utilities – compressed air, high‑pressure steam, industrial cooling and power distribution – ensuring consistency and energy efficiency.
• Drive strict adherence to manufacturing standards and Lean methodologies, acting as the lead for Lean Total Productive Maintenance (LTPM) to foster an operator‑led maintenance culture.
• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and real‑time process performance, identify bottlenecks, reduce scrap rates and implement engineering solutions for throughput and cycle‑time optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance leadership or senior technical role, preferably in the automotive or wiring‑systems industry.
• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Technical management of maintenance technicians.
• Lean Total Productive Maintenance (LTPM) and Lean tools.
• Vendor coordination and management of external service providers.
• Experience with PLC logic, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of CNC machinery, assembly line and specialised tooling maintenance.
• Understanding of production utilities such as compressed air, high‑pressure steam, industrial cooling and power distribution.
• Monitoring and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
