Senior Python Backend Developer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level backend engineer to design, build and maintain scalable Python services for our remote‑first team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality REST APIs and micro‑services that power our product while working within Saudi business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services using Python.
• Create and improve RESTful APIs and micro‑services with FastAPI and/or Flask.
• Implement data‑access layers with SQLAlchemy and relational databases.
• Write production‑grade code emphasizing performance, reliability and scalability.
• Develop automated tests with pytest and ensure code quality through linting (flake8) and code reviews.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate via GitHub pull requests, participate in code reviews and maintain clear documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Python and building production‑ready services.
• Proven track record delivering REST APIs and micro‑services.
• Experience working with FastAPI or Flask and SQLAlchemy.
• Familiarity with relational SQL databases and Docker.
• Comfortable working remotely, communicating effectively across time zones.
