Senior QC Engineer (Software Testing)

About the role

A Senior QC Engineer is a hands-on quality control professional responsible for manual, automation, API and performance testing to ensure high-quality software delivery. The role covers designing and executing test strategies, building and maintaining automation scripts, using AI-assisted testing tools, preparing testing artifacts and supporting product releases. It is a full-time position reporting to the QC Lead or Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write and execute manual test cases and scenarios covering functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API and performance testing, plus exploratory, smoke and sanity testing.
• Develop, maintain and run automated test scripts, improve automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Run performance, load, stress, endurance and scalability tests, identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements with development and infrastructure teams.
• Use AI-powered tools to speed up test case generation, automation scripting, test data creation, defect analysis and documentation, while validating their accuracy.
• Prepare test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, defect reports and test summary reports, and give quality metrics and risk assessments to stakeholders.
• Support UAT by preparing test cases, setting up environments and validating business requirements.
• Analyze root causes of defects, help developers reproduce issues and recommend preventive quality improvements.
• Mentor junior and mid-level QC engineers and share knowledge across QC, development, product, business and infrastructure teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 6+ years of hands-on software quality control/testing experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on manual testing (functional, regression, integration, end-to-end).
• 2+ years of hands-on test automation (framework development, scripting, CI/CD integration).
• Professional certification such as ISTQB-CTFL or ISTQB-CTAL.
• Proven track record of owning UAT cycles and delivering complete testing artifacts.

Required skills

• Test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, TestNG, JUnit.
• Performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.
