Senior Quality Control Engineer

About the role

The Senior Quality Control Engineer will act as the primary technical liaison for customers, ensuring that float glass products meet or exceed automotive, architectural, mirror and solar specifications. The role combines technical investigation, customer support, and continuous improvement of product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical contact for customer quality and performance issues.
• Lead investigations of complaints, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide technical advice, application support and product validation for new launches.
• Support customer audits, technical reviews and site visits with data and process insights.
• Monitor feedback and satisfaction metrics to drive product and service improvements.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure optical quality, thickness, flatness and surface properties meet customer standards.
• Partner with suppliers to resolve technical issues affecting customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation such as bulletins, guidelines and troubleshooting manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in float glass or glass manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of float glass processes, common defects and corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.

Required skills

• Root‑cause analysis techniques (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram).
• Statistical quality control tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
