Senior Radiation Protection Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Radiation Protection Engineer to provide specialist technical expertise for nuclear safety and radiation protection on a major international project. The role will work directly with the Customer, supporting technical reviews, commissioning activities, and operational readiness while fostering knowledge transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in radiation protection, including documentation review, commissioning support, and operational readiness.
• Review design, safety, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project codes and standards.
• Support commissioning by reviewing test programs, procedures, and system readiness.
• Interface with the Customer, contractors, and stakeholders in technical discussions and meetings.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Review as‑built documentation and system changes for alignment with the approved design basis.
• Contribute to operational readiness assessments, including processes, procedures, and organizational setup.
• Prepare technical reports, comments, and correspondence related to radiation protection and safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiology, Nuclear Engineering, or Nuclear Physics (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in radiation protection engineering within the nuclear energy industry.
• Thorough understanding of radioactivity measurement.
• Ability to analyze, communicate, influence, and persuade in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Experience with MERCURAD, PANTHERE, MicroShield or similar dose‑rate software.
• Radiation protection engineering expertise.
• Radioactivity measurement proficiency.
