Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Senior Tax Accountant (Senior Manager Tax Back Office) will lead tax compliance and back‑office activities for Al‑Futtaim Group entities in Egypt. You will ensure accurate tax reporting, manage documentation, and act as the primary liaison with tax authorities and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file all direct and indirect tax returns on time, following Egyptian tax calendars.
• Coordinate with Business Finance teams, Group Tax, and external advisors to ensure consistent tax treatment.
• Record tax journal entries, manage tax provisions, and compute liabilities on the general ledger.
• Maintain a central repository of tax documents and support audit requirements.
• Respond to tax authority queries, manage investigations, and handle tax controversy matters.
• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and maintain required documentation.
• Prepare internal tax schedules and reports for management.
• Identify and support automation initiatives, resolving tax‑related system issues with IT.
• Serve as the main contact for tax inspections, coordinating with consultants to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Contribute to process‑improvement and business‑excellence projects.

Required profile

• Certified in Tax, Finance or Accounting.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
• 10‑12 years of tax experience in Egypt, with deep knowledge of local tax legislation.
• Strong management, project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.

• SAP (ERP) proficiency.
