Senior Tax Accountant – Tax Returns & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead tax compliance, audit preparation, and advisory functions for our industrial and construction operations. The role involves direct interaction with Egyptian tax authorities and ensures accurate tax treatment across contracts and invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review VAT, Income Tax, Payroll Tax, and Withholding Tax returns, ensuring timely submission.
• Monitor and implement Withholding Tax regulations, reconciliations, and manage E‑Invoicing/E‑Receipt systems.
• Compile complete tax audit files (Corporate Tax, VAT, Payroll, Stamp Duty) and act as primary liaison with tax authorities and dispute resolution committees.
• Review invoices, contracts, and financial documents for correct tax treatment, including contractor and subcontractor agreements.
• Calculate VAT on work progress certificates and contractor billings, and coordinate contractor social insurance obligations.
• Analyze tax accounts, resolve issues strategically, and prepare periodic tax liability and compliance reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with an Accounting major.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on taxation and accounting experience.
• Strong background in the industrial sector; experience in contracting or construction is highly preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of Egyptian tax laws (Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll, Stamp Duty) and unified tax procedures.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
