Senior Tax Associate, MEA

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Tax Associate for its Middle East & Africa (MEA) Finance hub, based in Egypt and reporting to the Finance Manager. The role supports the affiliates across MEA countries in F&A activities according to predefined SOPs and SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate timely and accurate information for external tax consultants covering withholding tax (WHT), VAT and corporate income tax (CIT)
• Support the annual external audit by providing information to auditors in a timely way
• Resolve routine internal and external inquiries on accounts payable (P2P) and the internal invoice tracking tool (S2P), and communicate resolutions of discrepancies
• Prepare periodic summary reports tracking KPIs for the S2P process and help define action points
• Manage vendor invoice payments for the Dubai HQ Liaison Office and manage the monthly Business Travel Account (BTA) reconciliation for MEA countries
• Drive compliance for travel and expense (T&E) and review the payment control process centrally
• Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, regulations and laws, and respond to ad-hoc queries on P2P, T&E, BTA, tax and audit matters

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or ACCA, CA, CPA, or an undergraduate degree in science/engineering with an MBA (finance emphasis)
• 3+ years of finance/accounting experience
• Fluent English, oral and written
• Preferred: US GAAP and local accounting principles, statutory reporting and tax filing experience for Middle East countries, pharmaceutical/biotech experience

• Purchase-to-payable, statutory compliance and financial reporting
• SAP, Hyperion and other financial systems
• Preferred: Excel and PowerPoint, strong analytical and quantitative skills
