Senior Technical Office Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Abu Gemeaa is seeking a Senior Technical Office Mechanical Engineer to lead its Mechanical Technical Office team in New Cairo. You will be responsible for coordinating design, documentation and construction support for large‑scale MEP projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Technical Office team and assign tasks effectively.
• Review IFC drawings, project specifications, BOQs and contract documents.
• Prepare, review and submit mechanical shop drawings for consultant approval.
• Prepare and review material and technical submittals.
• Perform quantity take‑offs (MTO) and verify BOQs.
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure material compliance.
• Prepare RFIs, technical queries and respond to consultant comments.
• Collaborate with Civil, Architectural, Electrical and BIM teams to resolve design clashes.
• Provide technical support to site engineers and resolve construction issues.
• Prepare variation orders, claims and value‑engineering proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10+ years of experience in MEP/construction projects.
• Strong background in HVAC, fire‑fighting, plumbing and drainage systems.
• Experience on commercial, residential, hospital, hotel or industrial mega‑projects.
• Excellent leadership, coordination and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good experience with Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Familiarity with HAP, Pipe Flow, Elite Fire or similar design software.
• Knowledge of shop drawing preparation, material submittals and RFIs.
• Understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC/UPC standards.
• Ability to perform quantity take‑offs and value‑engineering analysis.
