Software Engineer – Model‑Based Development (Power)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in Model‑Based Development (MBD) for power‑related applications. You will work on designing, verifying, and delivering high‑quality embedded software using MATLAB/Simulink and related toolchains.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review detailed requirements and apply Valeo MBD standards.
• Perform data typing for model signals using fixed‑point techniques.
• Generate C code with Embedded Coder toolbox.
• Create MATLAB test scenarios for model verification.
• Conduct Model‑in‑the‑Loop (MiL) and Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SiL) verification, including back‑to‑back testing.
• Develop tools to improve MBD lifecycle efficiency and quality.
• Follow project processes, attend daily/weekly meetings, and report progress.
• Provide technical training, perform architectural reviews, and coach team members.
• Maintain traceability to customer requirements and manage software risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• B.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (M.Sc. or Ph.D. a plus).
• Strong knowledge of control law, thermodynamics and basic electronics.

Required skills

• MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow scripting and modeling.
• Embedded Coder toolbox and C‑code generation.
• Model‑in‑the‑Loop and Software‑in‑the‑Loop verification.
• Control‑law development and thermodynamics concepts.
• Basic electronics, automatic control, motor drives and electric motors.
• Familiarity with automotive SPICE (optional).
