Solutions Architect

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Solutions Architect to join its Project Design Authority (PDA) team in Cairo. The role focuses on designing and delivering Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) solutions for urban mass‑transit projects across Egypt, working closely with international teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse Request for Proposals (RFPs) to understand customer requirements and identify gaps.
• Design innovative, cost‑effective technical solutions for next‑generation ticketing and transit payment systems.
• Prepare technical proposals, compliance matrices, design validation documents and engineering effort estimates for bid submissions.
• Ensure global consistency of engineering processes, tools and practices, and approve lower‑level solution components.
• Collaborate with Capture Lead, Bid Manager, and engineering teams to create integrated bid responses.
• Maintain specification documentation, interface specifications and manage requirements throughout design, development and validation phases.
• Act as the primary technical interface between the customer and internal teams, providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑time‑zone environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience reviewing RFPs and translating requirements into technical designs.
• Proficiency in web and mobile architecture concepts.
• Ability to produce clear specification and compliance documentation.
