Structural Design Engineer – Steel Structures

About the role

Sesco Steel is seeking a full‑time Structural Design Engineer to join its Cairo office. You will be responsible for the analysis and design of steel structures, ensuring compliance with international codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, and load‑bearing elements.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and review CAD/AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication, project management, and construction teams.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation phases.
• Review client requirements, participate in design reviews, and optimise designs for cost, safety and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 2‑6 years of experience in steel structure design.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial or steel fabrication projects (preferred).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to solve complex engineering problems.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and AutoCAD for detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience using structural analysis software such as SAP2000, Idea Statica, Staad Pro, or Etabs.
• Knowledge of international and regional design codes (AISC, Eurocode, etc.).
• Ability to design steel frames, connections and perform load calculations.
