Tech Lead – Backend Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Team Lead to drive the design and delivery of scalable backend systems for Khazna, a neobank focused on financial inclusion in the Middle East. You will shape technical direction, define architecture, and mentor a high‑performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of backend engineers, ensuring high performance and professional development.
• Design and implement scalable backend solutions using Node.js, TypeScript and frameworks such as NestJS or Express.js.
• Own backend technical decisions and align system design and APIs with product, mobile and frontend teams.
• Deliver backend features and platform improvements on schedule and to quality standards.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, including code quality, testing, documentation and observability.
• Improve system stability and performance through monitoring, optimization and incident reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
