Tooling Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Tooling Engineer to design, develop, maintain and optimise tooling and fixtures that support our automotive filter manufacturing processes. The role ensures tooling reliability, dimensional accuracy and cost‑effective production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling, jigs, fixtures and dies for manufacturing processes.
• Oversee fabrication, qualification and validation of new and modified tooling.
• Manage tooling maintenance programmes to ensure availability, accuracy and longevity.
• Collaborate with product engineering and production teams on tooling requirements for new products.
• Analyse tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare tooling specifications, technical drawings and BOMs using CAD software.
• Evaluate and select tooling materials and processes to optimise cost and performance.
• Maintain tooling inventory, tracking and lifecycle management.
• Support PFMEA and tooling control plan development.
• Coordinate with external tooling suppliers and manufacturers.
• Ensure tooling compliance with quality standards and dimensional specifications.
• Mentor junior tooling engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of tooling engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

Required skills

• Strong tooling design and development expertise.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of machining, forming, casting and tooling manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T, metrology and precision measurement.
• Problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Project management and coordination skills.
