Virtual Medical Assistant – Multispecialty Clinic

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to support a high‑volume multispecialty clinic. The role is fully remote and focuses on preparing patient charts, verifying insurance, communicating with patients, and coordinating daily schedules to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and identify potential issues using portals and manual methods.
• Prepare patient charts before visits, ensuring accurate demographics, referrals, and documentation.
• Inform patients of financial responsibility, coverage status, and required items.
• Update patient information and provide cost estimates when needed.
• Ensure referrals, authorizations, and required documentation are complete and accurate.
• Communicate with insurance providers and primary care offices to obtain necessary information.
• Make outbound calls for appointment confirmations, follow‑ups, and scheduling updates.
• Manage add‑on appointments while maintaining workflow efficiency.
• Notify patients and clinic staff of delays, requirements, or coverage concerns.

Required profile

• Experience in medical office support, insurance verification, or virtual healthcare (preferred).
• Strong understanding of U.S. insurance plans, referrals, and verification workflows.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
