Warehousing and Material Handling Engineer

About the role

The Warehousing and Material Handling Engineer ensures seamless material handling and warehousing operations across the plant, from inbound receiving to lineside delivery. The role drives daily execution, secures material availability, and leads in‑plant logistics to achieve on‑time, in‑full delivery, inventory accuracy and lean operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all warehouse and material handling activities – unloading, receiving, labeling, storage, picking, kitting, loading and lineside delivery – while enforcing FIFO.
• Define, implement and continuously improve warehousing standards, processes, tools and work instructions in line with company strategy and cost optimisation.
• Lead daily operations to resolve short‑term material and schedule issues and report operational scores for continuous improvement.
• Supervise warehouse personnel, set objectives, monitor performance, conduct evaluations and identify training needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, governance and company standards while seeking operational enhancements.
• Define, track and analyse KPIs related to warehouse performance and report results.
• Maintain accurate material records through regular counts, support variance analysis and ensure real‑time inventory visibility via SAP/MES/WMS.
• Oversee proper utilisation, maintenance and safety compliance of handling equipment and technical assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in warehousing, supply chain or transportation within automotive or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of SAP and WMS (advantageous) and strong proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and adapt to change.
