Assistant Manager – Restaurants

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Restaurants will support daily restaurant and bar operations, including room service where applicable. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Chef, the role focuses on maintaining high service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising shift operations, covering duties of the Restaurant Manager when absent.
• Ensure employees have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Monitor food quality, service levels, and compliance with sanitation and alcohol service regulations.
• Handle guest feedback, resolve complaints, and promote exceptional customer service.
• Manage staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial targets.
• Open and close restaurant shifts, performing duties across all restaurant areas as needed.
• Conduct training, coach staff, and communicate performance expectations.
• Participate in department meetings and communicate goals consistently.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, or a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff, address performance issues, and maintain service standards.
• Strong understanding of restaurant policies, budgeting, and compliance with local alcohol laws.
