Backend Engineer – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join a leading global software development and IT services firm on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while building high‑performance backend systems that serve users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend services using modern frameworks.
• Implement and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs and data pipelines.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for global users.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Debug and resolve production issues with a focus on uptime.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience building and integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control with Git.
