Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead licensing initiatives and drive growth for Julphar. This role focuses on identifying strategic partnerships, managing due‑diligence processes, and negotiating agreements to expand the company’s product portfolio and market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market share and drive revenue growth.
• Scout new BD opportunities aligned with the growth and pipeline strategy.
• Interact continuously with the Portfolio Strategy team to review and grow Julphar’s product pipeline.
• Lead negotiations for licensing agreements and collaborations with external partners.
• Manage end‑to‑end licensing deals from initial contact to contract execution and implementation.
• Lead alliance management activities for signed contracts and oversee due‑diligence processes.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and academic institutions.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, regulatory affairs, marketing, portfolio management, and legal teams.
• Prepare periodic reports on BD & Licensing activities for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• More than 5 years of BD experience and at least 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the MENA region.
• Proven track record in signing and facilitating licensing deals.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
