Category Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Category Specialist to support the growth and performance of assigned product categories. You will work closely with the Senior Category Manager to manage day‑to‑day operations, supplier relationships, pricing, assortment and commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor sales, GMV, gross margin and key commercial KPIs for assigned categories.
• Develop and execute category growth plans and identify profitability improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, coordinate pricing updates, promotions, product launches and commercial activities.
• Support negotiations on payment terms, rebates, credit and promotional agreements.
• Track supplier performance, purchase orders, stock availability and resolve operational issues.
• Analyse category performance, SKU productivity, assortment gaps and pricing competitiveness.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports and maintain category dashboards.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Category Management, Commercial, Buying, Retail, E‑commerce or FMCG.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
