Commis Baker – Full‑time Position

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Commis Baker to join our team. In this role you will assist senior bakers with daily baking operations, prepare raw ingredients, maintain strict food safety standards and ensure high quality across all baked goods.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, weigh and mix ingredients according to established bakery recipes; assist in dough preparation, shaping, proofing and baking.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all workstations, baking equipment and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels of baking ingredients, report shortages and ensure proper rotation (FIFO) and storage of goods.
• Inspect finished baked goods for quality, consistency and proper presentation prior to packaging or serving.
• Support pastry chefs and head bakers with daily production schedules and specialized orders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Commis Baker, Prep Cook or Bakery Assistant in a commercial bakery, hotel or restaurant environment.
• High school diploma or culinary arts, baking or pastry arts certification.
• Basic understanding of baking methods, temperature control, dough handling and kitchen equipment operation.
• Valid Food Handler/Hygiene Certificate.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to stand for extended periods and eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
