Country Operational Risk Officer

About the role

The Country Operational Risk Officer supports the development and implementation of operational risk policies, frameworks and monitoring tools across the bank. The role works closely with various departments to embed risk‑based practices, raise awareness, and ensure business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting operational risk management policies, frameworks, self‑assessment templates and key risk indicators.
• Support the risk‑based identification, monitoring, measurement and reporting of operational risks.
• Help raise operational risk awareness through training sessions and documentation.
• Review bank products and processes, proposing risk mitigation controls.
• Monitor breach frequency and severity, adjusting risk parameters as needed.
• Prepare regular operational risk reports for the Country Risk Manager.
• Reconcile operational risk accounts with related events.
• Assist departments and branches in developing and maintaining business continuity plans.
• Support cost‑benefit analysis of recovery strategies and senior‑management endorsement.
• Coordinate testing of business continuity plans and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Help implement crisis management and incident response frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of operations experience in a leading international bank.
• Strong understanding of banking operations and risk concepts.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with senior management.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
