Cyber Security Internship – Hands‑On Cloud & Application Security

About the role

As a Cyber Security Intern you will gain hands‑on experience protecting cloud‑native infrastructure and applications at scale. Working alongside senior security engineers, developers and DevOps teams you will contribute to real‑world security initiatives across threat modeling, vulnerability management and penetration testing.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in threat modeling sessions to identify and document potential risks.
• Support internal security assessments and coordinate external penetration tests, including scoping, findings validation and remediation tracking.
• Assist in monitoring security alerts, triaging incidents and investigating threats using AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty and endpoint protection tools.
• Help scan, track and remediate vulnerabilities in applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to internal security awareness training and phishing simulations.
• Develop scripts or automation (Python, Bash, GitHub Actions) to improve monitoring and reporting.
• Collaborate with product, DevOps and engineering teams to raise security concerns and participate in secure‑by‑design discussions.

Required profile

• Senior student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
• Basic understanding of encryption, authentication and access‑control concepts.
• Familiarity with operating systems, networking and cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Good analytical mindset, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
