Data Protection Specialist

About the role

The Data Protection Specialist will ensure the organization complies with local data protection laws across all relevant jurisdictions. This role supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of data protection policies and training programs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and updating internal data protection policies and procedures based on regulatory requirements.
• Prepare regular compliance reports for relevant parties.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and recommend corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to deliver annual data protection training, including onboarding and mandatory refreshers.
• Maintain records of all data processing activities.
• Liaise with IT, Compliance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders.
• Monitor new data protection regulations and communicate updates to employees.
• Promote a culture of data protection compliance and provide support on related matters.
• Ensure compliance with AML/CTF rules, complete required training, and respond to related inquiries promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Compliance or Risk Management, preferably in banking or financial institutions.
• Basic knowledge of local and regional data protection laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
