Data Scientist

About the role

Spinneys Egypt is seeking a Data Scientist to join its analytics team in Maadi, Cairo. You will design, develop and operationalise machine‑learning models that support demand forecasting, customer behaviour analysis and pricing optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy ML models for demand forecasting, customer segmentation and pricing.
• Maintain model performance through scheduled retraining, monitoring and version control.
• Build and maintain automated data pipelines, ensuring availability, quality and timely issue escalation.
• Create and update management dashboards in Tableau and deliver scheduled and ad‑hoc analytical reports.
• Produce quarterly customer segmentation and loyalty analytics, monthly e‑commerce performance insights, and post‑campaign effectiveness analyses.
• Document data sources, lineage and definitions, and ensure compliance with data‑privacy policies.
• Define analytical use‑case requirements for data‑lake design, validate data quality and generate monthly quality reports.
• Propose and pilot new AI/ML use‑cases in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in a data‑science or analytical role.
• Strong understanding of machine‑learning concepts and statistical analysis.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML libraries: scikit‑learn, pandas, NumPy.
• SQL Server and relational database querying.
• Tableau for dashboard development and reporting.
