Design Engineer – Mechanical Components

About the role

Kandil Steel is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and redesign mechanical components for its equipment. The role involves creating detailed designs, reverse‑engineering parts, and supporting manufacturing and installation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components such as shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, gearboxes and clutches.
• Redesign spare parts to resolve functional issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date design files and documentation according to departmental procedures.
• Apply mathematical modeling and computer‑aided design techniques.
• Produce manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials that meet applicable standards.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer‑generated reports.
• Prepare layout and mechanical drawings for new production lines and machines.
• Perform reverse engineering of equipment, parts and mechanisms.
• Adapt reverse‑engineered designs for installation in new locations.
• Monitor manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
