General Accountant Supervisor

About the role

The General Accountant Supervisor leads the Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Inventory Cost Accounting functions, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting in line with IFRS and Egyptian regulations. The role oversees a team of accountants, reviews transactions in SAP and supports month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable cycle, including vendor invoice processing, employee reimbursements, pre‑payments and three‑way matching.
• Review and approve accruals, vendor reconciliations and resolve disputes in coordination with Procurement and Treasury.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax rules, VAT, withholding tax and e‑invoicing requirements.
• Oversee General Ledger activities: journal entries, intercompany transactions, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial closing on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Maintain proper GL account mapping, cost‑center and profit‑center assignments within SAP.
• Supervise inventory cost accounting, including landed‑cost calculations, variance analysis and periodic valuation according to IAS 2.
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures, and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising accounting teams and managing AP, GL and inventory costing processes.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Egyptian Accounting Standards and local tax regulations.
• Hands‑on expertise with SAP financial modules.
• Ability to meet tight month‑end and year‑end deadlines while maintaining high internal‑control standards.
