Head Digital Payments

About the role

The Head Digital Payments will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of digital payment services, including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, the Instant Payment Network and governmental payment channels. The role is accountable for strategy, design, implementation, continuous enhancement, security, regulatory compliance and performance optimisation while driving fintech partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of digital payment services – strategy, planning, development, implementation, support and optimisation.
• Ensure all activities comply with corporate governance, internal controls and Central Bank directives.
• Develop new service ideas and feature enhancements based on market trends and customer feedback.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents and coordinate Scope of Work with vendors.
• Implement regulatory mandates, system upgrades and new integrations.
• Track KPIs such as transaction volume, error rates, uptime and customer satisfaction; produce MIS dashboards for management.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to design and launch new digital payment features.
• Conduct gap analysis, benchmarking and market research to identify innovation opportunities.
• Prioritise, test and roll out platform enhancements according to roadmap.
• Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Monitor daily operations, ensure service availability and meet SLA targets.
• Act as escalation point for service issues, coordinate resolution and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Drive performance optimisation initiatives and support UAT for new releases.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in digital payments or related financial services.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for payment systems.
• Strong analytical abilities with a track record of using data to drive improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across business, IT, risk and compliance teams.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and fintech partnerships.
