Human Resources Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Human Resources Officer to lead and develop our HR function. The role involves ensuring compliance with employment legislation, managing the HR team, and driving talent acquisition and employee development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all employment laws and stay updated on legislative changes.
• Supervise HR department staff and coordinate daily operations.
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Design and deliver employee training and development programs.
• Maintain accurate HR records, compensation, and benefits information.
• Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and handle grievances.
• Administer compensation, payroll processing, and benefits programs.
• Create employee recognition and rewards initiatives.
• Lead employee wellness, safety, and occupational health programs.
• Negotiate and manage labor contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Provide HR guidance and support to managers and staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve HR processes and achieve company goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and unions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Proven experience in recruiting, training, or organizational development.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage HR projects and lead a team.
