Infrastructure Patch Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Patch Engineer to join a leading bank in Bahrain on a fully remote basis. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting patch deployments across a diverse set of Windows and Linux environments, ensuring compliance and system stability.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy approved patches to Windows servers, Windows 10/11 endpoints, Red Hat, Ubuntu and Amazon Linux systems using SCCM/MECM/WSUS or equivalent tools.
• Patch Microsoft SQL Server databases with vendor‑provided updates and perform basic service validation.
• Update third‑party applications such as Java.NET, Apache, Office, Adobe, and WinZip.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑patch health checks, record evidence, and generate compliance reports.
• Execute rollback procedures when required and coordinate with incident, application, database and infrastructure teams.
• Support emergency patch deployments following change‑governance processes.
• Investigate patch failures, perform manual remediation, and maintain detailed operational logs.
• Assist with Defender/AV signature updates through approved mechanisms.
• Participate in CAB/TAB preparation, maintenance‑window planning and after‑hours production patching.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in infrastructure patching and system administration.
• Proven expertise with patch management tools (SCCM/MECM/WSUS or equivalents).
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, MSSQL patching and third‑party application updates.
• Experience troubleshooting patch failures and executing rollback procedures.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management and CAB/TAB governance.
