Lecturer/Instructor in Graphic Design – Typography & Editorial Design

About the role

The German University in Cairo seeks a Lecturer/Instructor to join its Graphic Design Department. The position will start in September 2026 or February 2027 and involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in typography, layout, and editorial design.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and workshops on Latin and Arabic typography, typesetting, and layout.
• Guide students in editorial design projects and develop curriculum content.
• Conduct design research and lead a research cluster within the department.
• Supervise master’s theses related to typography and editorial design.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on joint design initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong academic background with a higher degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in Latin and Arabic typography and editorial design.
• Interest in design research and ability to develop research projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
