Order Taker – In‑Room Dining

About the role

The Order Taker provides telephone support for guests requesting in‑room dining services at Portaluna, a Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt. You will act as the first point of contact, ensuring a friendly, professional experience while accurately processing food and beverage orders.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming guest calls, present menu options, and explain daily specials.
• Take detailed food and beverage orders, noting dietary restrictions, preferences, and special requests.
• Confirm orders with guests and enter them promptly into the hotel POS system.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and housekeeping to ensure correct preparation and timely delivery.
• Provide itemized bills, resolve billing discrepancies, and process payments (cash, credit card, etc.).
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and keep menus and promotional materials up‑to‑date.
• Monitor inventory of in‑room dining supplies and alert management when restocking is needed.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or food‑service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage guests over the phone.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent guest service.
