Packaging Developer – Natural Spreads & Better Snacking

About the role

The Packaging Developer will lead innovation and renovation projects for natural spreads and better snacking categories. You will ensure that packaging solutions meet consumer expectations, business needs, and sustainability targets while aligning with internal policies and supply‑chain requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, including display materials, for BS/NS and B2B GE R&D projects.
• Drive packaging material specification, documentation and Bill of Materials maintenance in SAP.
• Coordinate industrialisation with supply partners, attend factory trials and support product launches.
• Test and evaluate alternative materials with suppliers to secure cost‑saving and contingency options.
• Support supplier qualification, quality complaint management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify new packaging opportunities through trade fairs, scouting missions and innovation workshops.
• Follow Hero’s Stage‑Gate process and manage project budgets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in packaging development across glass, metal, plastic or paper.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processing and relevant legislation.
• Excellent analytical, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
