Production Manager (Food Processing)

About the role

The Production Manager will lead all aspects of date sorting, grading, packing and processing operations. You will drive efficiency, quality and safety while integrating AI, Kaizen and Lean methodologies across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to meet targets, efficiency and quality standards.
• Optimize schedules, reduce downtime and implement continuous‑improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO and BRC food‑safety standards; conduct audits and corrective actions.
• Lead, train and develop the production workforce, managing seasonal staffing and labor productivity.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and drive automation and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain and farm teams to secure raw material flow and manage inventory levels.
• Maintain a safe work environment, enforce HSE policies and lead safety training.
• Track KPIs, prepare performance reports and implement cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
• 6‑10 years of experience in food processing, FMCG or agri‑industrial operations, with 3‑5 years in a managerial role.
• Hands‑on experience with AI, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Proven track record in production planning, quality assurance and process optimisation.
