Purchasing Controller – Procurement & Inventory Management

About the role

As a Purchasing Controller at Ingram Micro, you will ensure the smooth flow of products by managing purchasing activities, maintaining accurate inventory, and supporting strong supplier relationships. You will work closely with sales, finance, logistics and vendor partners to optimise product availability and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end purchase order lifecycle, from placement to tracking and fulfillment.
• Monitor inventory levels, demand trends and purchasing requirements to keep optimal stock.
• Coordinate with vendors, distributors and internal teams to resolve shipment, pricing, invoicing and supply issues.
• Analyse purchasing and inventory data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, purchasing controls and operational procedures.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy and supply‑chain performance.
• Assist in training and guiding junior team members, fostering a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply‑chain, inventory control or vendor management within a distribution, technology or fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
• Data‑driven mindset, using business insight to identify issues, make recommendations and achieve outcomes.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to translate reports into action.
