Purchasing Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Purchasing Electrical Engineer will be based on‑site in Qesm El Maadi and will support GFM Electric’s automation projects by sourcing and buying electrical components and systems. The role bridges engineering specifications with supplier capabilities to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery of high‑quality equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical specifications and drawings to define procurement requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to align component selections with project needs.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Manage vendor relationships, track orders and monitor delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and monitor inventory levels.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Experience in technical purchasing or procurement within an engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management and cost‑analysis abilities.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with suppliers.
